TIERRA/CURA vol. I
TIERRA/CURA vol. I (suom. maa/hoiva) on tanssi-installaatio kehon suhteesta maaperään ja huolenpitoon. Tanssi-installaatiossa erilaiset materiaaliset, äänelliset ja liikkeelliset elementit luovat tilan joka kutsuu asettumaan huolenpidon, kuvittelun ja maiseman äärelle. Tämä näyttely on teosprosessin ensimmäinen yleisölle avautuva osa. Työryhmä jatkaa TIERRA/CURA (vol. II) tanssi-installaation työstämistä syksyllä 2024 Tampereella.
Monivuotisen TIERRA/CURA projektin kautta syvennymme ekologisen huolenpidon ajatteluun, ja siihen miten voimme pitää huolta itsestämme pitämällä huolta maaperästä. Projektin tavoitteina ovat maaperän huolenpidon tutkiminen ja harjoittaminen ja näiden kokemuksien jakaminen tanssi-installaation, tanssielokuvan ja kirjallisen julkaisun muodoissa.
Projekti on inspiroitunut Maria Puig de la Bellacasan Matters of Care: Speculative Ethics in More-than-human worlds kirjasta, ja sen ehdottamasta tavasta nähdä maaperän kanssa kosketuksissa oleminen tulevaisuuteen suuntautuvana huolenpidon harjoittamisena. Projekti on jatkoa aikaisemmille koreografi Wilhelmina Ojasen ja työryhmän huolenpidon teemaa käsitteleville teoksille.
Projektin taiteellinen työskentely alkoi La Wayaka Current (Collo, San Pedro de Atacama) ja Centro Manna (Santiago de Chile) residensseissä syksyllä 2023 ja jatkui kevät-talvella 2024 Tampereella, Pirkanmaan Tanssin Keskuksen residenssissä 2.-12.1. sekä 1.3.-31.5.2024 Lielahden kartanolla osana Tampereen Kaupungin Kulttuurin välitilat-hanketta. Osana Lielahden kartanon residenssiä Wilhelmina on pitää avoimia työpajoja, niistä lisätietoa täältä.
TIERRA/CURA työryhmään kuuluvat koreografi-esiintyjä Wilhelmina Ojanen, dramaturgi-esiintyjä-kuvaaja Kardo Shiwan, muusikko Tapani Rinne, pukusuunnittelija-tilasuunnittelija Mirei Kato, kuvataiteilija-tilasuunnittelija Lotta Hurnanen, ja valosuunnittelija Jaakko Sirainen.
Käynnissä olevassa prosessissa esiintyjät Wilhelmina Ojanen ja Kardo Shiwan työskentelevät tilassa noin kolmen tunnin ajan näyttelyn aukioloaikojen sisällä. Tilasta saa vapaasti tulla ja mennä näyttelyn aukioloaikojen sisällä.

TIERRA/CURA vol. I (eng. soil/care) is a dance installation about the body's relationship with soil and care. In the dance installation, various material, sound and movement elements create a space that invites you to spend time with care, imagination and landscapes. This exhibition is the first part of the work-in-process that opens to the public. The working group will continue working on TIERRA/CURA (vol. II) dance installation in the fall of 2024 in Tampere.
Through the multi-year TIERRA/CURA project, we delve into ecological care and how we can take care of ourselves by taking care of soil. The goals of the project are researching and practicing soil care and sharing these experiences in the form of a dance installation, a dance film and a written publication.
The project is inspired by Maria Puig de la Bellacasa's book Matters of Care: Speculative Ethics in More-than-human worlds and the way it proposes to see being in contact with the soil as a future-oriented practice of care. The project is a continuation of previous works by choreographer Wilhelmina Ojanen and working group that explore the theme of care.
The artistic process of the project started in the residences of La Wayaka Current (Collo, San Pedro de Atacama) and Centro Manna (Santiago de Chile) in the fall of 2023 and continued in the winter and spring of 2024 in Tampere, in the Pirkanmaa Dance Center Liikelaituri residency 2.1.-12.2.2024 and 1.3.-31.5.2024 at the Lielahti Manor as part of Tampere City's Cultural spaces project. TIERRA/CURA working group includes choreographer-performer Wilhelmina Ojanen, dramaturg-performer-cinematographer Kardo Shiwan, musician Tapani Rinne, costume designer and space designer Mirei Kato, visual artist and space designer Lotta Hurnanen, and lighting designer Jaakko Sirainen.
In the work-in-process dance installation, performers Wilhelmina Ojanen and Kardo Shiwan work in the space for about three hours during the opening hours of the exhibition. You are free to come and go from the space during the opening hours of the exhibition.
